Agila Carnival 2015 kicks off today in Otukpo, Benue state.
The Agila Social and Economic Carnival (also known as Idoma National Carnival) is an annual event that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the northern people especially the Idoma people in Benue State, North Central Nigeria. The carnival exposes the world to the rich potentials of the Idoma culture and its positive effects on business investment and tourism.
The focal of the carnival is to re-invigorate the rather latent heritage of the Idoma people of Benue State, North Central Nigeria and create a platform for economic negotiations, mobilizing investments by identifying business potentials and resources of the zone. Therefore through the instrumentality of music, dance, masquerades, cultural parades and pageantry, the carnival also hopes to engender youth empowerment and economic revival.

3. Cultural Carnival
4. Idoma’s Got Talent Competition
5. Idoma Entertainment and achievment awards
6. Business Expo/Symposium and many others
This year’s activities with the theme: Consolidating the Idoma Cultural Assets and Values’ kicks off on the 23rd Dec in Otukpo, the traditional and economic headquarters of the Idoma people with the biggest street party north of the Niger(carnival procession) and will proceed to Ado LGA for a Novelty Football match, cultural displays/ masquerades, traditional wrestling, musical concert, fire works, etc with glitz and glamour.
The Face of Idoma Beauty Pageant which is the most celebrated and anticipated contest in Benue State holds on Christmas day where the winner is rewarded with a brand new Hyundai Xcent .
2face Idibia who is an ambassador of the carnival and Terry G are been expected to lead both A-list musicians and comedians to the event to thrill fun lovers this yuletide.
Some notable brands such as Globacom Nigeria, Hero lager beer, Faro drinks, Ragolis water, Hyundai, Oga landlord Foundation, etc are partnering Agila Carnival to organize the event.
